Mariví Calvo

Mariví Calvo is the Founder and Creative Director of LZF.
Between 1986 and 1992, Mariví exhibited her art on both sides of the Atlantic, basing her studio in New York, Madrid and Paris. It was in Paris in 1991 that she set about writing and working on The Kitchen Lady”, a surrealist dance performance for which she designed the costumes and sets. The results provided Mariví with a large amount of source material for subsequent art exhibitions, where she employed a mixed technique of photography on canvas paintings.
In 1994, Mariví co-founded Luzifer Lamps together with Sandro Tothill. Designing and making handmade wood veneer lighting fixtures, the company would grow to become an internationally acclaimed concern. The main partner and creative director of LZF, Mariví has developed and directed all aspects of its creative art department. She has designed a number of lamps that are emblematic of LZF’s imaginative approach to lighting, including the Guijarros, Gea and Cosmos collections, and the majestic Candelabro. In addition, Mariví is responsible for the design of every LZF exhibit and, assisted by key freelancers, creates and curates the company’s prizewinning campaigns.
