If there’s something LZF loves more than our own beautiful timber veneer lamps, it’s gastronomy. Good honest home cooking with something nice to wash it down. So, when we were asked to provide our lamps to fit out a venue that serves seasonal, wholesome mouthwatering food paired with craft beer, how could we refuse?

The venue, Ciao Thyme Commons is the newest venture by Ciao Thyme; a gourmet catering company based in Bellingham in Washington State, USA. We appreciate Ciao Thyme’s philosophy of featuring local, season produce and their adherence to the international Slow Food Movement. (Here at LZF we also like to take things a little slowly, especially when it comes to the care and craftsmanship that goes into our lamps).

And of course, Ciao Thyme wanted none other than LZF’s lamp-of-the-moment, the Link, created by Irish uber-designer Ray Power.

Power’s Link is the most successful LZF lamp in history and there’s a good reason for that; it looks gorgeous whether it’s switched on or off, plus it works just as well in an ultra-contemporary, environment, as in a more traditional interior.

The photographs by Kevin Kelliher of the Ciao Thyme Commons space, resemble a great, upturned ship, and it is immediately apparent our Link pendants and Link Chains are a real focal point, juxtaposed against the exposed ceiling ribs.

Look closely and you might also spot the Link floor lamp, looking mighty smug in the corner.

This particular event was a collaboration with local breweries. Ciao Thyme held a beer pairing event to raise money for the Bellingham Public School Foundation; so, for example, a Reuben’s Imperial Rye was paired with a rye dredged-buttermilk marinated organic chicken thigh, served on freshly baked rye bread, with lemon verbena aioli, nectarine and bell pepper salad.

Hmmm… We love a good Link between delicious food and drink
